Originally founded in June 1988 as the New England Antique Radio Club (NEARC), the club is now known as the New England Vintage Electronics Club (NEVEC). NEVEC is dedicated to the preservation, collection, restoration and enjoyment of vintage electronics, including radios, televisions, Hi-Fi receivers, phonographs, Ham, test equipment, electronic components, cabinets, speakers, etc., as well as related printed matter (magazines, user’s manuals, advertising, textbooks, etc.) and radio/television broadcasting memorabilia.

For a $6 annual membership, members will receive the club quarterly online newsletter, RAVEN (Radio and Vintage Electronics News), containing color photos and articles about vintage radios and electronics.

NEVEC also maintains a Facebook group, Youtube site and a members-only groups.io site, conducts bi-weekly Zoom meetings, and holds three swap meets per year.

For a sense of the vintage electronics hobby and NEVEC, check out member Bruce Phillips’ appearance on New Hampshire Chronicle in both 2020 as Former NEVEC President and earlier in 2013 when he was then NEVEC President.

Our Swap Meets

What is a New England Vintage Electronics Club swap meet? It’s a vintage radio and related electronics flea market, an old radio sales event, a vintage collectible electronics hobby get-together, and, more importantly, an opportunity to see, handle, discuss and buy vintage electronics and commiserate with fellow enthusiasts and collectors! It’s a chance for direct face-to-face discussions with individual dealers for getting questions answered, buying that old radio you remember from your childhood or always wanted, and sometimes even swapping something with a dealer.

A swap meet purchase means neither boxing and packaging hassles nor shipping or insurance charges. There’s no waiting for any UPS or FedEx deliveries and NO “damaged in transit” surprises. You simply take your purchases to your car/van/SUV. A swap meet is a good, old-fashioned “cash and carry” shopping. (Note: individual dealers may or may not accept personal checks and/or credit-debit cards…cash always works best!).

We cannot promise all of these things can be found at every swap meet. Each swap meet is unique and has a different mix of interesting, old vintage electronics for sale. Our dealers are ingenious at finding a wide variety of old and not-so-old electronics to sell at their tables. We never know exactly what will appear at any swap meet. Surprises often happen. It’s always worth a visit just to see what our dealers have on their tables.
